Dale and Sandy learned that homeschooling families were on the lookout for fiction for middle readers. They found good response for the Jackpine Point Adventures at the Minnesota homeschool conference (MACHE), one of the largest conferences in the U.S. At about the same time, in order to help Sandy's mother, the Larsens decided to move to Sandy's home town of Greenville, Illinois. (She is a graduate of Greenville College.) They continued to market their books at conferences throughout the Midwest. After eight years in Illinois, they returned to Minnesota and now live in Rochester. At conferences Dale and Sandy kept hearing parents say "There isn't a lot of easy-to-use, affordable writing curriculum out there." They listened and went to work. |

"Igniting Your Writing!" came out in 2002 -- one-volume, multi-level, reasonably priced, a dream to navigate, and fun for both parents and students. Hesitant and unwilling writers particularly bloom with "Igniting Your Writing!"
In 2003 "Igniting Your Writing!" was followed by "Igniting Your Writing II" , a one-volume curriculum for intermediate and advanced writers.
Besides their work for Merritt Park Press, Dale and Sandy Larsen have written Bible studies and books for major publishers for over 20 years. Click here to see their other writings.
