Meet The Author

Sandy Larsen has been a professional freelance writer since 1981. She has led many young writers' workshops and especially enjoys the lively question-and-answer times. Sandy is the author of the "Jackpine Point Adventure" fiction series and "Igniting Your Writing" curriculum. With her husband Dale, she has also co-authored over fifty books and Bible study guides. Sandy is a graduate of Greenville College, Greenville, Illinois, and enjoys hiking in the woods, canoeing, camping, all aspects of community theatre and -- of course -- reading.

The Jackpine Point Adventures got their start in Ukraine in the former USSR!

Dale and Sandy taught English in Kharkov, Ukraine, in 1993-1994 with Educational Services International. Living conditions were hard, and Sandy needed a good laugh. One night in their one-room apartment she wrote a scene of several junior highers having an argument. That scene and those characters became the seed of The Jackpine Point Adventures.
